HAELU was founded by three friends from England. Two brothers, Stuart and Rod, and an old school friend, Jamie. We have all lived in different parts of the world, and share a love of being fit and healthy, eating great food and drinking interesting drinks. One evening, while discussing life in lockdown, we decided to find the perfect non-alcoholic drink. HAELU was born and has since grown up with the support of industry experts who have joined the HAELU team. Today our Headquarters is in Royal Tunbridge Wells.

We believe in having a good time, looking after our health, and looking after our planet. These concepts have remained at odds with each other when it comes to indulging in our favourite alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and this is what we want to change. Why can’t a delicious drink make you feel great without having a negative impact on your health or on our planet? This question is at the heart of HAELU. We found a growing market of adults looking for an alternative to alcohol. They were seeking an alternative that was both a pleasure to drink AND had a positive effect on their wellbeing. We developed HAELU to be this perfect alternative by blending deep tastes with functional ingredients like adaptogens, vitamins, botanicals & minerals to create a drink which helps you feel relaxed and sociable, without alcohol, while supporting your long-term wellbeing. HAELU is made from 100% natural ingredients and contains no added sugar. Furthermore, HAELU is committed to creating a business that is focused on people and the planet as well as profit, something we will achieve through our core value of operating sustainably.

Everyone involved with Haelu is committed to creating a business that is a force for good. Our personal values of living ethically and sustainably needed to be central to our values as a business. We’ve committed to being Net Zero by 2030 with the UK Business Climate Hub but in reality our objective is to be Carbon Negative by then. We have also signed up to the SME Climate Hub, an initiative of the We Mean Business Coalition, the Exponential Roadmap Initiative, the United Nations Race to Zero and the International Chamber of Commerce. This is an international campaign bringing together real economy players and 120 governments committed to achieving net-zero emissions by no later than 2050. This hub provides us with the tools and resources necessary for us to make our climate commitment. All HAELU packaging has been designed with sustainability in mind. We're using aluminium cans which are 100% recyclable and light, minimising carbon emissions during transportation. Our labels use 55% recycled paper and 45% virgin wood pulp. Our cardboard boxes are made from recycled material and are 100% recyclable. We still need your help though! At HAELU we're asking you to take the opportunity to recycle whenever you can. It’s important to recognise, we may not be perfect but we promise to do our best, keep learning, be transparent and improve every year.

At HAELU we believe in choice. We are not anti-alcohol, and we all have our own preferred alcoholic drink, but we understand there are times when alcohol isn’t the right option, for lots of different reasons. We want to make sure that by making this choice, you are not compromising on your drinking or social experience. We have prepared HAELU to offer new and engaging options for adults seeking the perfect alternative.
